Aesthetic care without surgery at Dr. Duclos's clinic

Before your consultation, it's a good idea to ask yourself a few questions:

  1. Who do I get a non-surgical treatment for?
  2. How long have I been thinking about it?
  3. What are my expectations?

The injection procedures are relatively simple, incision-free, non-surgical treatments that can be used to rejuvenate the face in a variety of ways. In fact, they are currently the most widely used techniques for rejuvenating the face. They are used to plump up lips, cheekbones and chin, lift corners of the mouth and eyebrows, and reduce wrinkles and scars caused by acne.

The most commonly used techniques are Botox injections, fat cell injections and filler injections. Chemical peels can also be used for rejuvenation. The technique used, or combination of techniques, varies according to a number of factors, such as the expectations of the person consulting me, their physiognomy, the area to be treated and the depth of the wrinkles.

Fat cell injections have been practised for many years, and in fact I've been doing them for some twenty years, and they're becoming increasingly popular. Injection procedures have many advantages. The treatment can be performed quickly, there's little convalescence and results are immediate.

The main disadvantage of injection procedures is that treatments have to be repeated to maintain optimal results. In fact, during the consultation, I may recommend surgery rather than injections, or a combination of the two, in order to meet the client's expectations. Men are increasingly resorting to injections because, like women, their appearance is important, especially in an increasingly competitive workplace.

There are very few risks associated with injection procedures. The most common risks are some equimosis, swelling, redness or nodules, which are usually temporary. The risk also depends on the skill and experience of the doctor performing the procedure, as well as his or her thorough knowledge of facial anatomy.

As a first step, you should make sure that the person who is going to perform the treatment has a diploma in plastic and aesthetic surgery from the College of Physicians. Plastic and aesthetic surgery is a discipline that requires lengthy training and highly specialized knowledge, for example of facial anatomy. Although injection procedures are not surgery, they must be planned just as precisely as surgery, in order to minimize risk, ensure safety and achieve a natural result.

Secondly, it's important that you are listened to during the consultation so that your expectations are met. Make sure that all your questions are answered and that the information is complete. Your face and neck are unique.

It's important to consider everything before entrusting your face and neck to a doctor, to ensure that the result lives up to your expectations.

Non-surgical care at the Clinique de dre Duclos

The rise of non-surgical aesthetic treatments now makes it possible to achieve significant improvements in appearance without the constraints of an operation. These non-invasive procedures offer natural results and rapid recovery, attracting a growing number of patients seeking to rejuvenate their appearance or improve specific aspects of their face without undergoing major surgery. Dr. Duclos' clinic is renowned for its expertise in non-surgical aesthetic care, offering a range of treatments to meet patients' varied aesthetic needs. Here's an overview of the options available, the associated benefits and tips for making an informed choice.

1

Dermal filler injections:

Juvéderm, Volbella, Voluma
Dermal filler injections use products such as Juvéderm, Volbella, and Voluma to restore volume in different areas of the face. These treatments are particularly popular for lips, cheekbones, nasolabial folds and facial contours.

How they work: Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the skin. They are injected into specific areas to smooth wrinkles, add volume or redefine contours.

Benefits: Filler injections offer immediate, natural results. Hyaluronic acid also helps hydrate the skin, contributing to a subtle but visible rejuvenation effect.

Post-treatment care: Patients can resume their daily activities almost immediately. Results last from six months to two years, depending on the type of product used.

2

Botox and other botulinum toxins

Botox and similar products work by temporarily reducing the muscle activity responsible for expression lines. Areas most commonly treated include the forehead, crow's feet and glabellar lines.

How it works: Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to the injected muscles, enabling the skin to appear smoother and more rested.

Benefits: Botox reduces wrinkles without affecting the face's natural ability to express itself. Results are visible within a few days and can last up to six months.

Treatment process: Each session is quick, generally pain-free, and the patient can return to normal activities shortly afterwards.

3

Chemical peels

Chemical peeling involves applying a solution to the skin to exfoliate the surface layers, stimulated by the action of specific chemicals.

How it works: Peels use mild acids to remove dead skin cells, improving skin texture and reducing imperfections such as age spots, fine lines and superficial scars.

Benefits: After a peel, skin appears smoother, brighter and rejuvenated. Peels can be light, medium or deep, depending on the patient's needs and skin type.

Post-treatment care: After a peel, it's essential to protect the skin from the sun to maximize results and avoid side effects.

The non-surgical treatments offered by Dr. Duclos offer numerous advantages, particularly for people seeking aesthetic improvements without the constraints of an invasive procedure.

1. Greater safety: Non-surgical treatments such as dermal fillers or Botox carry fewer risks than plastic surgery. These procedures are fast, safe and adverse reactions are rare.

2. Rapid recovery: Unlike surgery, which may require weeks of convalescence, most non-invasive aesthetic treatments allow an almost immediate return to daily activities.

3. Lower cost: Non-surgical treatments are generally more affordable, although they sometimes require touch-ups to maintain results. This makes them attractive to patients wishing to test an improvement without a heavy commitment.

4. Progressive, natural effects: Unlike surgery, whose effects are permanent, non-surgical care allows you to test changes and adjust them gradually, for a discreet, natural result.
