Internal bra and breast augmentation

Internal bra and breast augmentation

Dre Duclos is always on the lookout for relevant information to advise you.

Recently, the principle of the internal bra (“internal bra” ) was popularized. However, this technique which helps prevent implants from moving sideways is not new.

Fundamental elements: incision, dissection, plane-by-plane closure

You should know that the breast augmentation technique has several fundamental elements that must be mastered to perfection.

The incision

Among other things, the skin incision must be as small as possible. Using the keller funnel can be very useful. In addition, the incision of the subcutaneous tissues must also be as limited as possible.

Dissection

Then, the internal dissection which creates the space to accommodate the prosthesis must respect the natural supporting tissues located laterally. Ideally, the implant should be placed near the center of the thorax i.e. sternum.

In addition, the morphology of each patient must be taken into consideration. Some women have a rib cage shape which means that the breasts are towards the front while for others the breasts are more towards the sides i.e. at an angle.

Closing

Once the implant is well positioned, tissue closure must be done using the “plane by plan” technique. Sutures are placed on the side of the breast and inferiorly to improve the patient’s own support. Several types of wire can be used. Notched or barbed wire is not recommended because if it comes into contact with the dentures, it can puncture them.

Dr. Duclos puts forward all of these measures in order to improve the support of implants and thus help reduce the risks of lateral and inferior migration of implants or the risk of “bottoming out” or “double bubble” type deformation.
